Sneak Peek | My Konjac Sponge by CZJAI REYES-OCAMPO
Weather was warm and sunny over the weekend, and it was business as usual for most establishments here in Laguna, including courier and delivery services. Even our mailbox had been bustling since last Friday, with a steady flow of deliveries – utility bills, credit card bills (spare me, please), PhilPost claim stubs, and best of all, products from my favorite brands and generous sponsors.
I received quite a few items over the weekend, but this package from Updated Trends really got me stoked.
If you can remember, Updated Trends is the Philippines’ exclusive distributor of Sleek Makeup. The latest addition to the store’s product line is this brand – My Konjac Sponge.
Konjac, the plant from which these sponges are made, thrives in tropical and warm subtropical countries such as India, China, Japan, and Korea. Konjac is well-known in these countries as a food ingredient, as well as its various health-giving properties.
In Japanese cuisine, Konjac (also known as konnyaku) can usually be found in dishes like oden and sukiyaki. While in China, Konjac is usually consumed in jelly or tofu-form. In Korea, it has become quite popular as an exfoliant and a face massage accessory, as in the case of My Konjac Sponge.
With five variants to choose from, my Konjac Sponge can be used even on the most sensitive skin. Babies included!

My Konjac Sponge “Water Drop Volcanic Stone Facial Sponge” by Rillaz
Pertama kali tau produk ini sebenarnya dr salah satu anggota di Beauty Blogger Indonesia. Awalnya sih cuek karena aku pikir ini seperti sponge2 biasa gitu hehehe… tp lama kelamaan kok aku jadi penasaran yah… setelah googling sana sini akhirnya makin penasaran lg, dan alhasil beberapa hari yg lalu aku order sponge ini via online ^,*
Jadi… Konjac Sponge adalah sponge yg berfungsi membersihkan wajah dan tubuh yg terbuat dari 100% serat alami konjac. Sedangkan Konjac itu sendiri adalah sejenis umbi-umbian yg tumbuh di daerah Korea, Jepang dan China.
Sponge ini memiliki beberapa macam jenis :
● Water Drop Volcanic Stone Facial Sponge ( punyaku )
● Moon Korean Ocher Facial Sponge
● Moon Original Facial Sponge
● Water Drop Bamboo Charcoal Facial Sponge
● 6 Wave Body Sponge
Sebelum aku membeli sponge ini, awalnya aku pikir sponge ini mempunyai tekstur yg kasar dan bisa mengakibatkan iritasi kulit wajah. Ternyata dugaanku salah, sponge ini sama sekali tidak membuat iritasi dan tidak menimbulkan sakit pada kulit wajah.
Kenapa aku pilih yg Water Drop Volcanic Stone ?? Menurut aku jenis ini cocok banget untuk kulit mukaku yg kombinasi ( berminyak & kering ) dan sedikit berkomedo.Water Drop Volcanic Stone ini bentuknya pipih, warnanya pink kecoklatan dan memiliki pori2 mirip banget sama makanan khas Medan si Bika Ambon ;D
Pada saat kemasaannya aku buka, sponge ini memiliki tekstur yg kenyal dan dilengkapi tali putih yg memudahkan kita untuk menggantungnya. Namun setelah pemakaian 1x dan seterusnya, sponge ini akan berubah menjadi keras jika dalam keadaan kering. Jadi pastikan untuk merendam atau membasahkannya terlebih sebelum digunakan.
Adapun cara pemakaian & perawatannya :
- Basahkan / rendam sponge ke dalam air. Pastikan air meresap ke dalam sponge dan setelah air meresap sponge akan berubah menjadi elastis.
- Remas secara perlahan air yg ada di dalam sponge
- Tempelkan sponge ke wajah, kemudian gosok perlahan lahan dengan gerakan memutar
- Setelah selesai digunakan, bilas sponge sampai bersih
- Remas kembali secara perlahan sponge sampai air bilasannya benar2 tidak ada
- Kemudian gantung dan keringkan sponge ini di tempat yg kita inginkan
Sponge ini dapat digunakan sekitar 3 bulan lebih, tetapi tergantung dari perawatan masing-masing yah. Selain itu jika kita ingin mensterilkannya cukup masukkan sponge ini ke dalam microwave selama 1,5 menit. Mudah bukan ??
Aku menggunakan sponge ini sehari 2x dan biasanya aku pakai setelah menggunakan sabun pencuci muka. Dan efek yg aku dapatkan kulit muka menjadi kesat, terasa kencang dan bebas dari minyak.
