Konjac Sponges By Two Thousand Things

Have you guys heard about the Konjac Sponge ?

If you haven’t then I would like to introduce you to one of the best cleanser that I have tried so far 😉

I received a Konjac Sponge last week from My Konjac Sponge, and as soon as I received the email from them I immediately search the internet and visit My Konjac Sponge website and found out so many great things about the konjac sponges.
Konjac Sponges are the softest and most gentle yet effective skin cleansing product on the market. A research in Japan has proven that Konjac sponges can deeply cleanse without damaging the skin and it’s better than any normal wash cloth or wash sponges.

The Konjac Sponge is made from natural “Konjac” fibre.

What is a Konjac fibre, you might ask?

Konjac fibre is a revolutionary vegetable fibre from the root of the Amorphophallus “Konjac” plant. It is a plant native to Asia and sometimes are also known as Konnyaku.

My Konjac Sponge is the Indonesian company currently supplying Konjac Sponges all over the country. Their Konyaku sponges are made to the very highest standards, using the purest volcanic rock filtered water and food grade “Konjac”.

Originally designed for babies, it is probably the softest most gentle yet effective skin cleansing product on the market. They are 100% Natural and completely environmentally friendly. No colouring and no-additives, just straightforward, biodegradable, healthy plant material.

My Konjac Sponge has several Konjac Sponge variations on their website, and I received the Water Drop Volcanic Stone Facial Sponge:

The Water Drop Volcanic Stone Facial Sponge is a pinkish sponge that is naturally made of 100% pure vegetable fiber and enriched with drops of volcanic stone that could absorb excess oil on our skin as we scrub the dirt off the skin. It is perfect for those with oily complexion or skins that prone to spots and acne; and for those who have problems with shiny oily skin, blackheads and breakouts. It is also suitable for those with eczema or hypersensitive skin.

I have a combination-oily face so it is the perfect variant for me to try. When I first open the packaging I was surprised that the sponge is actually in a damp/almost wet condition. And I guess that’s how it supposed to be, because I read somewhere that when a konjac sponge is dry it could be as hard as a stone. So the damp sponge is a Plus for me. That means you can also use it instantly after you open it from the package.
Here is how to use it (taken from the website):

  • Before use, soak the sponge into warm water until the sponge is fully soft.
  • Use with or without facial cleanser and gently massage the face / body in a circular motion.
  • After use, gently press the sponge by two hands and drain the sponge. DO NOT WRING !!

The sponge comes with a thin hanger on it so you can hang it after every use. Remember to hang it in a well–ventilated area to air-dry. And also remember to re-hydrate it again with water before re-using it.

This Waterdrop Volcanic Stone facial sponge is meant for facial cleansing purpose but I guess it could also be use as body cleanser. The waterdrop shape with a pointy end on this sponge is great for facial cleansing though. It makes it easier to reach those hard-to-reach little places on your face such as the corner of your nose, the area around your eyes, and the corner of your lips.

My Take:

I love how it felt on the skin when I cleanse my face with it. I tried it without using any cleanser and my facial complexion looks glowing instantly after I use it. It made my complexion more smooth, radiant, and plumped. It makes my skin looks and feels healthy! It’s just amazing how a sponge can cleanse your face thoroughly without even using any cleanser.

I also tried it with a cleanser and you just need a tiny amount of your cleanser with it because the sponge would make it extra foamy, and the results are (if not better) is as great! My face feels thoroughly clean afterwards and the complexion looks healthier and less oily. It’s best to use it after you clean your makeup because it is a facial cleanser and not makeup-remover after all. I myself love to use it in the morning (and sometimes in the afternoon too), (and / or at night time after removing my makeup) ;p

Overall, so far I love it and would recommend it for anyone who wants to have a clean face and body. There are konjac sponges for different skin condition (even sponges for men) and for body on My Konjac Sponge website. This one costs IDR 65.000 and it will lasts up to 6 months. With everyday usage and great results, I’d say it’s very worth the price.

You can check out their website and Facebook page for more details and info.Or you could also email them at info@mykonjacsponge.com for ordering the product.
